Is this completely wrong of me?
So I get a pop up window in Firefox asking me to take the Dumb Test. I complete the requisite 20-question on stupidity and click “Show My Score”. But then it asks for a huge amount of personal information and in doing so it tries to sell me a useless amount of crap such as magazine subscriptions and “free” laptops.
It won’t let you see your score without entering in your name, address, email address, date of birth (social security number, name of first born, present employer, size of your underwear, name of your first pet, etc…).
And I think to myself, this is way to invasive.
No one needs this kind of personal information for stupid online quiz just to insult me by telling me how stupid I am. So I did what any self-respecting 20-something would do in this situation – I lied.
I lied my ass off.
For all they now know, my name is Jimmie Matrix living on the 1100 block of a street 5 streets away from my actual address, with a birthdate that is no where near my real one, with an email address that doesn’t exist.
God bless the anonymity of the Internet.
Oh, and apparently I’m 56% dumb. Look who’s stupid now.
