Liberal bias in the media? How about liberal bias in our universities!

OK… I could write a book on this, but I’ll be brief.
Does the university really think that by supporting their position it’s making them look fair? If anything, it’s opening them up to a lawsuit in a constitutional court of law for violation of the First Amendment. Let’s look at the facts: the university fully acknowledges that they allow students the right to free speech. One of these forms is expression through the use of chalk on such public places as sidewalks. What makes the side of a building any different? It’s a public place is it not? The university had this to say about the incident:
“We consider it when people put things on the buildings to be vandalism because it could damage the buildings,” said Student Life Vice Chancellor Karen Whitney.
Damage? With chalk?! This is just another attempt at the liberal educators of this country to twist and destroy the Constitution at any cost. I’m sure the Obama-loving group of students on campus are just as eager to state their case. If they has done so in equal measure, this wouldn’t even be an issue. Here’s another fact:
Anything written within 20 feet of a building is also against school policy, she said. The only exception is IUPUI’s Democracy Plaza, where students are encouraged to use chalk to write on large pillars.
So the university only allows the exercise of a God-given right within it’s set parameters and regulations. Isn’t this a tenant of socialism? To control everyone’s ability to do what is given to us naturally and by God? I know that colleges and universities are set up to teach the liberal arts, but I think this is completely off kilter with anything that higher education is supposed to be teaching us. We, the twenty-somethings of this great nation have a duty to the moral fabric of this country to exercise our rights as God intended. Not to be hurdled in one place at one time to “get it all out of our system” and return to the status quo.
While I’m at it, doesn’t this sound eerily like another socialist aspect of society to you? Prayer in school, anyone? Don’t even get me started on that one…

Actually, there’s nothing liberal about censorship. And there’s no free speech violation if the rule is “don’t write on the buildings.” Also, I’m unsure to what you’re referring when you say “isn’t this a tenant of socialism?” (Which should, by the way, be “tenet of socialism.”) One of the main tenets of socialism is the abolition of private property; in which case, the university claiming that the building isn’t public property to be used however the public sees fit, is definitely ANTI-socialist.

So I’m guilty of incorrect spelling and exercising my right to freedom of speech? Is that all?
