Schedule change for NMD Live this week

Just wanted to let everyone know that both The Texh Geek and The 2.0 Show will be recorded on different nights this week. Here’s the schedule:

The Tech Geek Netcast will be recorded on Thursday 5/14 at 8pm Eastern.

The 2.0 Show will be recorded on Friday 5/15 at 8pm Eastern

Both shows can be watched live on NMD Live! at the above listed times. Our chatroom will be through our new video streaming provider, Ustream.tv

The day Encarta died

This week in tech, Encarta – Microsoft’s attempted at a CD-ROM based encylopedia – became extinct.

I used Compton’s Encyclopedia for the longest time.  It’s amazing that in the span of two years (1993 to 1995), all of the millions of dollars invested into this market by software companies went to waste.

In other news, a complete overhaul of NMD Live! is now taking place.  I have the main pages up, but there are still graphics and other niceties that still need to be worked on.  Those revisions should be finished by the end of this week.

Also, I should have the most recent episodes of The Tech Geek and The 2.0 Show up this evening on the site and for download.  There was more editing then normal that needed to be done.  I really need to get someone to help me with editing for all my shows so I can get these out in a more timely fashion.

Lifecasting on NMD Live!

Thanks to @alxconn (the inspriration behind the idea), I have started lifecasting via the NMD Live! Stream on live.newmediaindy.com.

Starting at 7pm Eastern weekdays you can catch a glimpse into the studio with me, The Tech Geek. Right now there’s no audio on the feed (this is done for the purpose of keeping my verbal conversations private). You can still interact with me via Twitter.

Live stream is now up

After working all day yesterday and a tiny part of this morning, I finally have my live stream page up.

I put some small ads on the page flanking the Stickam feed window to show off the deals though our sponsors. Right now we have more sponsors than we can support on this page, so I may have to add some ad space though the individual podcast sites or something else entirely. I have decided yet.

Also, at the bottom of the page you’ll see the markers for our different shows – both live and recorded. This way you always know when we’re broadcasting the latest content.
